Filey is a coastal town in North Yorkshire, with glorious sandy beaches. It’s located between Scarborough and Bridlington and overlooks the North Sea.
Filey train station has hourly services to Scarborough, Bridlington and Hull, and many of the UK’s cities can be reached through the various connections from these stations. Bus services are good here, with routes along the coastline to Scarborough and Bridlington. For those travelling by car, the A64 isn’t far away and it goes right through to York and Leeds.
Filey has two primary schools and one secondary school that has children attending from neighbouring villages, like Hunmanby.
The independent shopping scene is strong in Filey, with plenty of local stores providing everything that’s needed by locals. There are fashion boutiques, shoe stores, stationers, grocery stores, craft stores and more.
The town also has a fantastic range of family-run cafes, pubs and restaurants. When heading out for a meal, there are plenty of cuisines to choose from, and most places use local, high quality produce.
