Bishopsworth is just a few miles outside of Bristol city centre and within walking distance of Bedminster.
There are regular bus services into Bristol city centre, and the nearest train station is just over a mile away at Parson Street. From Bristol there are nationwide train services and connections, including hourly trains direct to London taking just over an hour and a half. Road links are also good in Bishopsworth, including a direct route to Bristol Airport for travel further afield.
Bishopsworth has good schools that are all within walking distance. There are many outstanding primary schools to choose from, and a very good secondary school too.
Bishopworth has a local butcher, a convenience store and a post office for locals. Nearby, there’s Imperial Retail Park with a good variety of well-known shops including M&S Food, Next, Argos, Homesense, Boots and more. The retail park also has a Cineworld where you can enjoy the latest films. Bristol city centre is only a few miles away and has all the excellent shopping amenities that you’d expect to find in a large city centre.
The Tythings is a traditional, family friendly British pub that’s right in the heart of the Bishopsworth community. It has relaxed, comfortable surroundings, and is a great place to catch up with friends for a mid-week drink or to enjoy a meal from it’s great food menu. The Kings Head is nearby too and it’s another large, family friendly pub that has great facilities. Food-wise, there’s Nobanno Indian, which serves up traditional and genuine Indian food prepared by the chef who’s from Bangladesh and knows their spices well.
Grange Road Surgery provides a GP service to locals, and there’s a local pharmacy, and several dentists to choose from too.
Hengrove Park has an enormous play park providing lots of entertainment for children. There’s sand and water play for little ones, a wheels park (for BMX riders), a skateboard park and a Challenge Zone, with climbing pyramids, a climbing wall, and more.
Close to Bishopsworth is the village of Dundry and many walkers like to enjoy the Dundry Hilltop walk with stunning views as it takes them through rolling hills and gorgeous fields.
With Bristol being so close to Bishopsworth, there are many fun days out to enjoy close by. Bristol Zoo Gardens are just the other side of the city and there are over 400 species here; it’s a great place to visit for people of any age. You can spend time investigating below deck aboard the restored Brunel’s SS Great Britain, or find out more about what lives underwater, at Bristol Aquarium.
Windmill Hill City Farm isn’t far and it’s open seven days a week. Many facilities here are free to enjoy, and there’s a child-friendly café onsite providing food and drinks. There’s a great play area for children, animals to visit and learn about, and farm trails to take part in, including a Stick Man trail.
