Little Sutton is a village that’s found on the Wirral Peninsula in north west Cheshire, and it’s a suburb of Ellesmere Port.
The village has its own train station making it a great location for commuters. The station sits on the Wirral line, which connects Little Sutton directly to both Ellesmere Port and Liverpool, with services running every half an hour. There are plenty of bus services throughout the area connecting residents to local villages and towns as well as the nearby cities. For those that drive, the M53 runs close to Little Sutton making commuting to Liverpool or Chester a good option from here.
Little Sutton is a great place for families, especially given the number of schools in the area. There are pre-schools and nurseries available, as well as several primary schools to choose from. Little Sutton Church of England Primary School and Sutton Green Primary School are both local options that have received a good rating from Ofsted. Secondary schools can be found nearby, including Archers Brook School, Ellesmere Port Church of England College and Ellesmere Port Catholic High School.
There’s a lovely selection of local independent shops in Little Sutton so you don’t have to go far to get what you need. The Secret Garden is a local florist, and Chatwins is a popular local bakery. Little Sutton Convenience Store sells lots of essentials and is also home to the Post Office. There are several Tesco Express stores here, but when you need a big grocery shop, Ellesmere Port has Morrisons, ALDI, Asda and more to choose from. Cheshire Oaks Designer Outlet is just a few miles from here with its luxury brand names, like Calvin Klein, Armani and Mulberry, as well as high street names like Next and M&S. When you want some city centre shopping then Chester and Liverpool are both easily accessible too.
Little Sutton has plenty of local places where residents enjoy great food and drink. Meanay’s Café is popular for a bite to eat in the daytime. If you like spicy food, then try Holdi Spice Lounge or Purple Olive, and there are lots of takeaway options like China Palace or Sammy’s Takeaway (serving pizza). Locals enjoy visiting Alfie’s Bistro & Wine Bar for a meal and drinks, and The Crafty Tavern is loved for its unique selection of beers and ales.
Healthcare is provided just under a mile away at Great Sutton Medical Centre, and Ellesmere Port Hospital is also close by (three miles away). There are a couple of pharmacies in the village as well as the local dental practice, Little Sutton Dentist.
There are plenty of places to get some fresh air nearby, such as Rivacre Valley Country Park with woodlands and meadows, and Whitby Park with a pond, play areas and a wheel park. The Coliseum Leisure Park has plenty to do, including bowling, Lazer Quest and watching the latest films at Vue cinema. There are plenty of places to eat out there too, like Chiquito and Frankie & Benny’s.
Other days out include Chester Zoo (just five miles away), National Waterways Museum (three miles away) and Blue Planet Aquarium (four miles away). For a day at the beach, many locals choose to head to Thurstaston Beach, which is only a half hour drive and it’s overlooked by the beautiful Wirral Country Park.
