Why live in Stevenage?
Stevenage itself is a tale of old and new. Some parts of the Old Town date back hundreds of years and are steeped in history while the New Town provides a good mix of property from the last century and this. This is a thriving town and we are proud to boast about what we have on offer and our fantastic communication links.
The town has excellent shopping and leisure facilities including an Imax cinema, bowling alley, swimming center, many main brand supermarkets, a number of different gyms and a variety of eateries. We can’t forget to mention Stevenage Borough Football Club now can we! We have been keen sponsors over the years. The High Street has a very good mix of shops including Tesco Extra and a Costa too! Plus, many private and bespoke restaurants, a variety of historic good old-fashioned pubs. There are so many reasons for you to come and see us at Hunters.
What can we do as a family?
Stevenage has Fairlands Lakes perfect for family picnics, walking, fishing, and water sport activities.
Miles of countryside on the doorstep, minutes away from rolling hills and farmland, villages and parishes perfect for weekend walks or long bike rides.
The Leisure Park has Cineworld, Hollywood Bowl, chain restaurants, soft play, Smyths Toys Superstore.
Schooling
Being a spread out town there are many different local communities all with their own nursery, primary and secondary schools. More recently super schools and academies have opened. We also have Hertfordshire college to offer to students. We are a short drive from Hertfordshire University & Campus.
Nightlife
El Bar de Tapas – a privately owned Old Town tapas bar, which has been recently expanded and refurbished. Always fully booked, fantastic food, never disappoints. Cinnabar – offers tasty breakfasts, lunches, and dinner. At night it turns into a poplar bar and nightclub, it’s never empty.
Wagamama – fresh modern interior, fast paced fresh healthy Japanese food. No need to book, walk ins only now offering home deliveries.
