Given each person classifies happiness in their own way, it is difficult to see how you can compare different locations with respect to happiness. Of course, this doesn’t stop people from trying, and every year, Rightmove provides a list of the happiest places to live in Great Britain.
You might be forgiven for thinking happiness is thin on the ground in 2020, but this year has helped many people to fall in love with their community once again.
When you consider the criteria considered in the “Happy At Home” index used by Rightmove, it is easy to see that the important factors matter more than ever.
Community is crucial to a happy life
Some of the leading criteria listed by Rightmove include a sense of community spirit, a sense of belonging, polite and friendly people, sporting activities, cultural activities, green spaces, nature, local services and amenities.
These are factors which matter, and we are pleased to say Bridgend makes it into the top five happiest places to live in Wales.
The top five happiest places to live in Wales are:
- Llandrindod Wells
- Monmouth
- Cardiff
- Llandudno
- Bridgend
You might think some of these places don’t deserve to be ranked higher than Bridgend, but the most important thing to focus on now is that Bridgend is ranked so highly. Of course, this shouldn’t be a surprise.
When considered alongside the revelation houses in Bridgend are selling quickly, there is no denying there is considerable interest in the market right now.
We have helped many local buyers and vendors in recent months, and we know what is taking place in the local market. If you are looking to move in 2021, we are more than happy to assist you. Get in touch with us today, and we will help you plan your next move.
Rightmove agree Bridgend is a happy place to live
Rightmove's data property expert Tim Bannister says: “Obviously for many people this year has not been a happy one so we want to use a report to shine a light on the happiest places only, and to find out how lockdown has changed how people feel about where they live.”
Tim also said; “Our latest research shows that despite all the challenges that this year has brought, many people have been able to reconnect with their local area and community which has had a positive effect on how they feel about where they live.”
Tim continued by saying; “Overall, I think lockdown has enabled people to rediscover what's on their doorstep and spending more time in their local areas has made people value their surroundings and community so much more. This year's study shows a greater appreciation for green spaces and nature, and a strong correlation between people living in coastal and rural areas and how happy people are where they live.”
At Hunters Bridgend, we are proud to play a part in supporting a thriving and friendly local community. If you would like information or guidance on how we can assist you, or you just want to stay in touch with the latest housing industry news, please contact us today.
