Why live in Bedminster?

Bedminster is an exciting area with plenty going on, and it’s just south of Bristol.

The city centre is very close by, so you can easily walk or cycle into Bristol. There are also plenty of local bus services and trains, so public transport’s an option too. Bedminster train station is on the Bristol to Exeter line, with services direct to Bristol Temple Meads station. This gives access not only to the city centre but to nationwide services as well. Services to London Paddington take just 2hrs30mins when travelling from Bedminster.

There’s a huge independent shopping scene in Bedminster along East Street, West Street and North Street. You can find books, clothes, vintage items, records, toys and food. There are also several high street chains here, and some good supermarkets.

North Street is the place to go for food and drink. It’s packed with a great mix of cafes, restaurants, bars and pubs. Cuisines include Mexican, Mediterranean, traditional pub grub and Indian food. There’s a setting for everyone here, from cosy, quiet cafes, to lively pubs with open mic nights.

Bristol Royal Infirmary is the area’s closest hospital, just under three miles away.

Victoria Park is a great place for families, with plenty of green space to enjoy as well as three children’s play areas. Windmill Hill City Farm makes for a fun day out and it’s free to enter with plenty to explore, such as farm trails, animals, gardens, a café and a play area.

Bedminster has a theatre hosting a variety of performances including dance, Shakespeare’s plays, comedy and opera. Upfest is an annual graffiti festival that takes place on North Street, and it has loads for locals to enjoy, including live music.

There’s so much happening in Bedminster, but Bristol city centre is also nearby with plenty to discover and enjoy too.
