Why live in Hythe?
Hythe is a historic coastal town in Kent surrounded by beautiful countryside and has a long seafront.
Transport links here are good and include a high-speed train service that travels from Folkestone West, getting to London St. Pancras in just 54 minutes. The M20 is nearby and connects to the M2 making driving to London easily accessible.
Hythe’s long high street is home to some gorgeous, independent stores, coffee shops and restaurants. There are clothing boutiques, vintage stores, gift shops and much more.
Meet friends in one of the lovely independent cafes, or grab a takeaway coffee on the seafront before a walk on the beach. There are some great seafront restaurants too, that serve fresh fish, as well as inland restaurants with a range of international cuisines to choose from.
The pub scene is great here with many traditional old pubs to choose from, serving hearty dishes and great beers.
The long stretch of Hythe Beach provides plenty of space to enjoy the seaside, and there are great coastal walks, as well as walks along Royal Military Canal.
One of Kent’s most popular attractions is the Romney, Hythe and Dymchurch miniature railway, which has a station in Hythe. The 13.5-mile route has several stops along the coastline and it’s a fantastic way to explore the area.
